ELSINORE – The Vengeful Ghost / Tombstone Hex 7”EP

Elsinore is the newest and yet oldest-sounding brainchild of Giorgio Trombino, a veteran of the Italian metal underground whose past and present bands includes Assumption, Bottomless, Shrieking Demons, Haemophagus, Undead Creep, Thysia, and many more. Conceived in April 2025 while on tour across Denmark and deep into reading Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Elsinore (the English name for the Danish city of Helsingør, where the tragedy is set) was designed to bring back the corpse of the most ancient form of OG death metal in the vein of such bands as Death (Mutilation demo through Scream Bloody Gore), Sweden’s Vampire, Sweden’s Repugnant, Death Breath, and the like.

Elsinore’s first recording, the two-track The Vengeful Ghost / Tombstone Hex, now arrives, on the suitably vintage format of 7″ vinyl. The two tracks were recorded by Giorgio Trombino at Mal De Testa studio, with engineering by Daniel Grego; mixing & mastering were handled by Trombino, as well. Short but very, very sweet, The Vengeful Ghost / Tombstone Hex is fresh, filthy, and FUN: old school as fuck, but not in any corny or cloying way. Elsinore will perform with a live lineup at some selected concerts whenever the moon is high, and a bunch of new songs for a debut album are being written as we speak!
